- Work closely with SVP, Global Head of Legal.
- Build and manage an in-house IP team to handle all Harbour IP needs.
- Develop and implement IP strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage all aspects of global patent prosecution and portfolio development for biotech innovations.
- Provide strategic counsel on freedom-to-operate analyses, patentability assessments, validity/infringement opinions, and due diligence for transactions.
- Collaborate closely with R&D teams to identify inventions and guide them through the patent process.
- Oversee outside counsel work product; manage budgets and timelines for international filings.
- Advise senior management on IP risks/opportunities related to commercial activities.
- Support litigation matters as needed.
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s preferred) in
Biology, Immunology, Oncology, Chemistry or related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in patent prosecution for biotech inventions across the US, EPO (Europe), Japan, Korea, and China.
- Admitted to practice before at least one major Patent Office (e.g., USPTO or EPO or SIPO).
- Proven track record managing complex global portfolios from both private practice (law firm) and corporate/in-house perspectives.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to communicate complex technical/legal concepts clearly to non-specialists.
- Excellent organizational skills; able to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
